Water damage in Mountlake Terrace
Much of Mountlake Terrace went up as a postwar suburb, so a lot of homes are ramblers and split-levels on crawl spaces, many with decades-old plumbing. Those houses see the same calls as older Lynnwood neighborhoods: rusted supply lines, water heaters that finally leaked, and crawl spaces that stay wet all winter.
Water from outside is part of the story too. Lake Ballinger sits on the west side of town, and its outlet, McAleer Creek, runs east toward Lake Washington. On New Year's Day 1997 the lake rose more than six feet above normal and damaged several waterfront homes, and another storm in December 2007 flooded three homes. Hall Creek has also jumped its banks during heavy rain and caused trouble for nearby houses and roads.
Newer apartments near the Mountlake Terrace light rail station add unit to unit leaks to the mix. Whatever the source, the company you reach will stop the water, get it out and dry the structure.
What crews handle in Mountlake Terrace
- Emergency water removal: Water pumped and extracted, wet carpet pad and drywall pulled, drying equipment set the same visit.
- Burst and leaking pipes: Frozen pipes, failed supply lines and old galvanized plumbing that finally gave out.
- Crawl space water and mold: Standing water, wet insulation and musty smells under the house, dried out before mold takes hold.
- Condo and apartment leaks: Water coming through the ceiling from the unit above, or leaking into the unit below.
- Sewage backup cleanup: Sewer water coming up through floor drains, tubs or toilets, cleaned up and disinfected.
- Storm and flood water: Rain coming into daylight basements, garages and lower floors during long winter storms.
